In 1901, the 138 acre site known today as Atlantic Station began as a busy steel mill. Producing the first steel in Georgia, with 1,400 employees in its heyday. The steel mill closed in 1996. Then in 1999, the Jacoby Development Corp purchased the land for $76 million and began their $25 million clean up effort. Today this area in Atlanta, GA is known as Atlantic Station.
